Polyhymnia, the Muse of Harvest
Charbono is truly a unique varietal, rarely produced in California at this time. With a long and rich history tied to the northern part of the Napa Valley, it is the perfect choice for Museion’s introduction into the world of red wine - bold, unconventional, but beloved by new and old alike. Due to its vineyard being mere steps from our winery, and the grape being produced in so few places here in Calistoga, it was clear that only one muse could represent our Charbono: Polyhymnia, the Muse of Harvest.

Our Charbono is fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged in 10% new French oak, resulting in a balanced structure with layers of dark fruit, acidity, and a gentle oak influence.

Nestled within the northern Napa Valley AVA of Calistoga, our Charbono vines thrive in the hot, dry climate of the region, combined with cool evenings and mineral-rich volcanic soils. These conditions allow the grapes to reach their full maturity while maintaining natural acidity. This balance of warm days and cool nights results in a longer growing season, which helps develop the grape's deep color, rich flavor, and structured tannins.
